Phillip Island - Practice for the 2023 Australian MotoGP has been completed. Brad Binder was the fastest racer, while Francesco Bagnaia was left behind so he had to play Q1.
The 2023 Australian MotoGP Practice Session was held at the Phillip Island Circuit on Friday (20/10) afternoon WIB. Binder, riding a KTM motorbike, recorded the best lap time with 1 minute 27.943 seconds.
KTM asserted its dominance after Jack Miller finished this session in second place with a difference of just 0.148 seconds. Meanwhile, Aprilia rider Maverick Vinales is in third place.
Jorge Martin topped the 2023 Australian MotoGP Practice in the last six minutes before Binder broke his time record. Martin had to settle for finishing in fourth place, but he will still gain an advantage in qualifying because his rival, Bagnaia, failed to shine.
The Ducati rider had to undergo Q1 after only finishing eleventh in the Practice session. Bagnaia overall experienced difficulties at Phillip Island because in the previous FP1 session he was again only in 11th place.
Marc Marquez experienced something similar. This Repsol Honda rider recorded two crashes before finishing in 16th position, behind his younger brother Alex Marquez, and ahead of Fabio Quartararo.
